I am based in South Manchester, specialising in clock repair to early English and French clocks with complications.
If you have a clock that is in need of attention please email me at Jonburtonclocks@gmail.com A photograph of the item would be helpful.
You can also look at the clock care page which has information regarding cleaning, setting up, winding and other helpful tips.
I do not work on any quartz or battery powered clocks.
As well as repair work I am currently working on designing clocks with FBHI Geoffrey Waker, Fellow of the British Horological Institute and holder of Post Graduate Diploma in the Conservation and Restoration of Antique Clocks, West Dean College.
In a service the clock is completely disassembled and each part, and it's action is checked. Any work done to any part of the clock is done with the best interest of the clock and to its original design. The clock is cleaned in a non invasive cleaning solution, assembled and tested for 2 winding cycles. Any issues found in testing are corrected and then the test starts again. A check up: cleaned, oiled and checked, is recommended every 5-10 years.
I do have a long waiting list at the moment and would be happy to contact you as soon as possible to arrange a date to collect or drop off the clock. If you have any questions please ask.
